If you haven’t heard of him check out his biography on Wikipedia: <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Avakian" target="_blank">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Avakian</a> He pioneered the LP, sleeve notes, multi tracking and overdubbing…and he produced Miles Ahead and my favorite Gil Evans album “New Bottle Old Wine”. I photographed him in 2010 for New York Magazine and was so excited a couple of weeks later when his name popped up on my caller ID at the office.
